Shadeborn, the Displaced
Shadeborn was not created by the First Forge and has no connection to the unseen force that attacked it. It originated in the distant realm chronicled in The Chronicle of Valefyre.
When the Shattering fractured the First Forge, the explosion briefly cracked the boundary between worlds. Shadeborn accidentally fell through one of those openings before it closed, leaving the entity stranded beneath an unfamiliar sky. Its arrival was an unintended consequence of the catastrophe. Not part of the attack.
Shadeborn manifests as a fluid mass of living darkness capable of bending light around itself until its form nearly disappears. It moves in unnatural silence, emerging from concealment to deliver devastating umbral strikes before retreating beyond retaliation. Although now cataloged among the Forgekin, Shadeborn remains something foreign: a shadow of Valefyre displaced into the Age of Echoes.
