LORE
Recovered Border-Guard Journal We found the child unharmed at the Gloamwood–Blightfen border. Threadbear stood between her and three Blightfen stalkers, its cloth body torn nearly apart. One arm was missing. Several seams had split, spilling scraps of blankets, old uniforms, and fabric bearing markings from settlements across the Forged World. It did not retreat. Every patch sewn into a Threadbear appears to preserve something of its former owner: a lullaby, a promise, the warmth of a sickbed, or the memory of someone standing between danger and those unable to defend themselves. This may explain why Threadbears collect discarded cloth wherever they travel, repairing themselves with pieces freely given by the people they protect. We carried this one back to Gloamwood and repaired every seam we could find. By morning, it had disappeared. The child’s torn sleeve was gone with it. Final entry from the Lantern Border Patrol
