LORE

Pricklets gather along the sunbaked edges of the Dustfall Barrens, particularly wherever stubborn patches of wildflowers manage to grow. Their thorny hides conserve moisture through the longest dry seasons, while the flowers atop their heads change color after rainfall. Playful and relentlessly curious, Pricklets often follow travelers from a safe distance. Anyone attempting to capture one quickly discovers that its friendly appearance offers little protection from its spines. When threatened, a Pricklet shakes loose a volley of needlelike barbs that weakens its attacker before bounding away with an unmistakably mischievous chirp. Barrens guides consider the presence of Pricklets a fortunate sign. Where these lively Forgekin gather, water, and a brief moment of relief from the unforgiving desert, is rarely far away.
