LORE

It is said that deep within the Blightfen lies a forgotten burial ground where no flowers grow. During the Shattering, a fragment of the Toxic Affinity Flame passed over this place and awakened every poisoned root beneath the graves. The roots twisted together, feeding upon old bones, rusted armor, and the lingering anger of those buried without remembrance. From the corrupted earth rose Gravethorn. The legend claims that Gravethorn wanders wherever the dead have been disturbed. Its claws leave wounds that continue to spread poison long after the creature has vanished, as though the grave itself is reaching through its victims to reclaim them. Fire cannot frighten it, and cutting it apart only scatters new thorns across the soil. Travelers in the Blightfen still leave small offerings beside unmarked graves. Not to honor Gravethorn, but to assure it that the forgotten dead remain forgotten no longer. Those who mock the custom are warned never to follow the sound of roots moving beneath their feet.
